Curvaceous Bridal hosted a Sonsie Designer Day with brides coming to their Miranda store in July to celebrate with them.
Representatives from the London Sonsie team were in store to further assist brides in finding something stunning to wear on their big day.
Jason Jennings, the London designer of the award winning Sonsie Collection by Veromia, understands how a woman should look, and pulls this into his designs, creating a well-fitting, sexy yet feminine look to his design of gowns for curvy women.
“The Sonsie Designer Day was very exciting with brides enjoying the opportunity to be dressed in a gown by one of the leading international designers,” owner of Curvaceous Bridal Patricia Edwards said.
Curvaceous Bridal started as an idea 11 years ago when Patricia experienced the frustration of searching for a bridal gown with her daughter, a beautiful plus size young woman.
Both women being avid shoppers and fashion conscious found the experience very distressing with so little plus size gowns available.
Four years later Patricia embarked on a new venture when she opened a small boutique selling pre-loved gowns.
It was at this time that Patricia began to develop her strong profession and personal relationships with some of the top bridal designers from both Australia and internationally, focusing on exquisite gowns for full figured brides.
As the merchandise started arriving, a shop front became available in the small suburb of Kirrawee where all the pre-loved gowns were deleted and new plus size designer gowns were sold off the rack.
The new name of the store then appropriately became Curvaceous Bridal.
In May 2010 Patricia fulfilled a dream and opened her chic plus size bridal salon in Miranda, creating an exciting and unique shopping experience for curvy brides with her superior quality gowns.
This has become not just a labour of love for full figured bridal wear, but something for which she feels passionately.
Since the start, Curvaceous Bridal has received numerous nominations and awards including state finalist for three years running in the NSW & ACT Small Business Champion Awards, Australian Bridal Industry Award finalist for 2009 and Winner of the St George and Sutherland Shire Business Awards in Women’s fashion.
